For a donation of $100, the City's Memorial Tree Program will plant a 6-10-foot tall tree in memory of a friend or loved one. In addition to the tree planting, you will receive a space on the Missouri City Forestry website Memorial page. You may provide us with a digital picture of your loved one and furnish a customized 50-word or less dedication to go alongside your name on the website. The online memorial page will include your dedication, photo, and explanation of the tree planting.
To take part in the program, please download a Memorial Tree Application and return it, with a check in the amount of $100 made out to "The City of Missouri City," to the:
Missouri City Parks Department
c/o City Forester
1522 Texas Pkwy.
Missouri City, TX 77489
Note: Please make sure that you include the phrase "Memorial Tree Fund" in the memo line of your check.
Caring for the Trees
Your newly planted tree will be mulched, fertilized, pruned, and watered for 2 years by city staff. If the tree dies within that time, it will be replaced by another tree at no additional cost to you. To ensure the highest survival rate, your tree will be planted between October 30th and April 30th. The City Forester will help you determine an appropriate species and location for your memorial tree.
Missouri City Tree Challenge
The Nichols Family of Quail Valley, has generously offered to match their neighbor’s tree donations, for up to 50 trees at Missouri City Parks. Trees will average 6’-12’ tall at the time of planting. The City Forester will select the appropriate species and location for each tree sponsored. For more information and to participate in the tree challenge, please download a Missouri City Tree Challenge Application.
